Every four years, consumers are encouraged to "vote" for their favorite presidential candidate in the 7-Election by purchasing their 7-Eleven coffee in a special red or blue cup. 

In the 2012 election, we wanted to bring this tongue-in-cheek promotion to a wider audience.

Media included pre-roll videos, banner ads and page takeovers on theonion.com throughout the election, as well as a print ad in the Washington Post. Buzz reached far and wide across both industry and consumer media outlets.
